3 Product Face

These products lean towards those great skin days, 'no makeup' makeup looks or just when your in a hurry.

Real Techniques Travel Essentials

I love Real Techniques brushes, in my eyes they just do the job so well and at such an affordable price. I recommend them to beauty junkies and to those who are new to makeup as you just cannot beat them.
The latest addition to my collection is their Travel Essentials and I think it is perhaps my favourite set because as a whole I value each and every brush. In other collections there has always been one brush that I never end up using and although the others do makeup for it - yes I am talking about the Buffing brush here, it is nice to have a set where all the brushes are so useful.

Must Have Clarins Products

Clarins... my skincare, body care and makeup brand of the moment. They have SO many products I could praise but if you can't decide on those which really are worth the pennies or which to put on your Christmas List, then here's my reccomendations...

Michael Van Clarke 3" More Inches Lifesaver Spray Review

So here we have it, yet another rave about the Micheal Van Clarke 3" more inches range. Ever since learning about the damage that silicone can do to your hair, I have tried to eradicate it from my hair care routine completely. It has actually proven quite difficult to find many products and brands that don't use silicones and so that's why Michael Van Clarke 3" More Inches range has remained my haircare brand of choice.

NYC in a NYC Minute Nail Polishes

It's not often I do a post solely on nail varnish but I was so impressed with these NYC in a NYC Minute nail polishes* that I just had to give them their own post. Firstly, I love the colours in the range and I think that the three above, which are New Pink Spring Tulip, Blue Sky and Green Raindrop are super cute . More importantly I found them really easy to apply and they did in fact dry very quickly and lasted for a couple of days without chipping.

I find it incredible that they are so good, yet only cost £1.79 at Superdrug- Yes you heard correctly! So go and give these a go and let me know what you think!

New CID i-tint Review

Some of my favourite beauty products are from New CID cosmetics, yep i-glow in the shade Sirroco- I couldn't be without you. So this week when the latest New CID i-tint tinted moisturiser* with SPF15 landed on my desk in it's super swish packaging, I was really quite excited.

Summer Holiday Essentials.

Ok, so I am a little late on this post but I thought better late then never. I have a holiday coming up in a few weeks and whilst the sun is still shining here in the UK (kind of), I thought I would let you in on some of my new and some of my favourite must have products for Summer trips away.

HD Brows Eye and Brow Palette

With celebrity fans including The Saturdays, Little Mix and Emeli Sandé, it’s no wonder everyone seems to be going crazy for HD Brows lately and I have recently just joined in on the hype after using my new bespoke HD Brows eye and brow palette* in the shade 'Foxy'.

Bella Sorella at Cabot Circus Bristol THIS WEEKEND

If you are in Bristol this weekend and heading to Cabot Circus for a spot of shopping, then make sure you check out Lydia and Georgia Bright's Bella Sorella pop up shop! I was lucky enough to visit earlier on in the week for a sneak peak of the shop and to also meet Lydia and Georgia themselves.

An intro to MyChelle Dermaceuticals

Some of the latest additions to my skincare routine are from skincare brand MyChelle, which is said to be the number one natural skincare brand from the USA. The MyChelle range is huge and there are products for a variety of skin types and skin concerns. I have been using some of the products from the Age Spot/ UV recovery range to help brighten out my skin tone and help it look even. This range is also said to help prevent future UVA/UVB damage.

Empties #7

Another month, more empty products... here we go again!

Bobbi Brown Luminous Moisturizing foundation

Just a quick post to let you know that I am currently loving the Bobbi Brown Luminous Moisturizing foundation. I know this Summer it is all about BB creams, CC creams etc etc. But I like to stick to what I know sometimes and well a liquid foundation suits me perfectly. I would say this is quite a light to medium cover foundation and is very sheer but it definitely does give you that coveted Mille Macintosh glow, especially if combined with the right selection of products (a great concealer and a great brightening powder and you'll be good to go).

An Introduction to Sampar

Sampar is a Cult Parisian Skincare brand that is completely up my street, from the packaging to the products themselves, I have been nothing but impressed. I had never heard of this brand until perhaps a couple of months ago and I well I am so glad that I have now as I have not stopped using the products that I am about to mention.

H2O Plus Face Oasis Hydrating Booster

For the last year I have become accustomed to using a facial serum as a part of my skincare routine. My latest encounter has been with the H2O Plus Face Oasis Hydrating Booster*. H20 is a brand I have not really used before, but after being introduced to the brand late last year, I have been rather excited to use some of their products.

The 4711 Nouveau Cologne

The 4711 Nouveau Cologne* range was created with ingredients to ensure calm relaxation and peace of mind.  I have been using this fragrance from the range as my day to day fragrance, which I spritz every morning before I leave the house, or even carry around with me all day in my handbag.

Why we should cut out Silicone based hair products.

Some of you beauty enthusiasts have probably already heard that silicone based hair products are damaging for the hair. I will admit  I was quite baffled when it came to the matter, but I have recently learnt that the best thing you can do for your hair is cut out silicone based products completely as they cosmetically disguise poor quality hair and simply accelerate its demise.

Last week as you may already know, I was very lucky to visit the Michael Van Clarke Salon in London (if you want to know more check out my previous post here). Whilst at the salon, a few fellow bloggers and I had an intimate chat with Michael himself about his 3" More Inches product range and hair care in general. This talk completely revolutionised the way I now look after my hair.

Michael Van Clarke Salon London

Last week, I headed into London to visit the Michael Van Clarke Salon situated on Beaumont Street in Marylebone. The Michael Van Clarke Salon offers an array of services, from their signature Diamond Dry Cut™to hair colouring and styling and also beauty treatments such as facials, waxing, manicures and pedicures. I have been so excited to write this post after meeting Michael himself, seeing the salon and learning about the 3" More Inches range that Michael himself created.

The whole experience was incredible and I have so much to tell you all...

PHYTOCIDRE: Phyto vinegar rinse

Phytocidre* by Phyto has been the latest addition to my haircare routine and it  keeps an old beauty secret in mind. This cider vinegar rinse neutralises limestone and eliminates impurities, which make the hair look dull and instead makes the hair softer and full and also adds shine.

Strawberry heaven!

I  am currently loving my latest bodycare routine from the Body Shop.  I picked up quite a few basic products from the strawberry range  and I am so glad I did!  I have been using Body Shop  products for years and I just think you cannot go wrong with any of them.

Laura Mercier Creme Brûlée Scented Candle

Here is just a quick post as I have had a few questions on this candle, which often sneaks into a lot of my photographs. It is the gorgeous Laura Mercier Creme Brûlée candle and it smells amazingly.

For Glowing Skin...

I have recently become obsessed with face serums and making sure my skin is really hydrated. I have been trying out the Burt's Bees Radiance Serum*. It leaves my skin looking fresh and glowing and as it has a lightweight formula, it is ideal for daytime use too.

Latest Summer offerings from Clarins

As Summer is hopefully approaching, I am so excited to introduce you all to some of the latest Summer offerings from Clarins. I already have somewhat of a love affair with their limited edition palettes, so lets add my latest additions into the mix as well. We can't depend on sunshine to always give us a natural looking glow here in the UK, so let these products give you a helping hand...

JO LOVES.... The new fragrance venture by Jo Malone

Jo Loves... is the new fragrance venture by the famous Jo Malone, inspired by 'hopes and creative thoughts' the range consists of eight beautiful fragrances which are all simply to die for.

Beauty Haulin'

Uh oh... I have been doing some shopping (again) and so I thought I would show you some of the latest additions to my beauty stash!

Origins Drink Up-Intensive Mask Review

For the last few months, I have been suffering with really dry and dehydrated skin. I have been meaning to try the Origins Drink Up-Intensive mask for such a long time, that now seemed liked the ideal time and so I ran to my nearest Origins counter, in hope that the Drink Up-Intensive mask could saviour my dull, dry and problematic skin.

St Tropez Dark Tanning Mousse

St Tropez tanning products were the first self tanning products I ever used many years ago. It's become a brand I feel that I can always trust, so when I recently tried out the St Tropez Dark Tanning Mousse*, I was very excited.

Repurchases: The Products I Love.

As I have been getting through so many products lately, I have really started to learn just what I really love and what in fact I am just not that bothered about. Here are 5 of my latest beauty repurchases, which I know will always have a place in my beauty cabinet.

Empties #6

I am getting through SO many products at the moment it is unbelievable. So an empties post is long overdue.

Manatomicals: Are you looking to get picked up?

I don't usually do posts on products for men but when I saw these hair and body washes from Manatomicals, I couldn't help but smile.  These Hair and Body washes from Manatomicals are in my eyes, both cheap and cheerful (a bargain at £2.79) and so I just don't think you can go wrong. There are four in the range to choose from and above is the Energy hair and body wash* and the Wake up hair and body wash. I really like the packaging and the minty scent of these- yes they may be for boys but that doesn't mean I don't get a sniff!

March Birchbox 2013

Back in November, I attended a fabulous Birchbox event where I was first introduced to Birchbox and even got to meet the lovely American co-founders; Hayley Barna and Katia Beauchamp.
Birchbox launched in the UK at the start of 2013 and I am now thrilled to have got my hands on the March Birchbox*.
I have recieved a few different beauty boxes in the last year or so but I can firmly say that this has been my absoloute favourite to date. I loved the packaging and colour of the boxes (I much prefer the pink drawstring Birchbox bags in comparison to the black Joliebox ones). And I also loved having a read of the Birchbox Magazine.
Anyway on to the important part; the products and I must admit I was very impressed.
Firstly the box contained a BeautyBlender®, yes that's right, the much coveted little beauty tool that is said to work wonders when applying your foundation *faints*. I have wanted to try a  BeautyBlender®  for quite a long time now but never seemed to quite decide on whether to make the purchase or not, so here you have a prime example of why beauty boxes are so brilliant. They set out to let you try before you buy and of course, if you get to try a product that is already on your wish list, well then that's just a bonus!
The next product that I'm really excited about is the Laura Geller Beauty Waterproof Gel Liner as I have wanted to experiment with Gel liner for quite some time now. The box also included a mini box of Lindor Chocolates (yum), a sample of a Molton Brown fragrance, a sample size of a La Sultan de Saba Body Lotion and a sample size of the Yu-Be Moisturising Skin Cream, which I am very intrigued to try.
A subscription to Birchbox costs just £10 + PP a month and is available from www.birchbox.co.uk.

So what do you make of the March Birchbox? Have you already had yours or are you going to subscribe?

Phyto Subtil Elixir

For the last few months I have heard everybody raving about pre-shampoo treatments for the hair, and I mean what a great idea don't you think? A product that you leave in your hair before you wash it and then carry on with whatever it was that you were doing. No fuss, no waiting around in the shower for ages, yes this sounds right up my street and ideal for those of you who have a busy lifestyle.

So for the last few weeks I have been trying out the Phyto Subtil Elixir* and I can definitely note the difference already. This intensive weekly treatment is said to weightlessly repair dry and ultra-dry hair, illumining it with incredible shine and just by using once or twice per week it should restore shine and revitalise the hair.

To use, simply apply on the lengths and ends of your hair and then leave on for 10 minutes or more depending on the hair’s level of porosity. Then you just rinse thoroughly and continue to shampoo your hair as normal. I usually try and leave it in my hair for as long as possible. So for example, if I get home and know I am washing my hair later on in the evening, I will apply it straight away and leave it in for a couple of hours. Sometimes on my more relaxed 'I don't care days' I put loads in my hair and put it up in a big bun for the rest of the day. I have rather thick and dry hair so I do apply a generous amount but for you girls with finer or short hair, I would probably just recommend using a small amount.

I have tried quite a few Phyto products in the past and I think this is so far definitely one of my favourites to date. I also really enjoy the smell. My only issue to report (which is my own fault) is that I do occasionally forget to use it as I don't think my brain hasn't quite fully adjusted to this new shake up in my hair routine. Other then that, I absolutely love this!
The Phyto Subtil Elixir* retails at £24.50 for a 75ml pump bottle and is available in Space Nk here.

Let me know what you think.

HD Brows- Blusher and Bronzer?

Who would have known it? The famous HD Brows have now extended their range to offer some fab products which aren't just for brows! The HD Brow has become extremely popular with people flocking to salons to get the HD Brows experience as well as buying their products to use at home. So when The HD Brows Blusher* and HD Brows Bronzer* and not to mention their accompanying blusher brush* and large powder brush* arrived on my desk, I did let out a slight squeal.

The packaging on both the blusher and bronzer is very compact and handy with a little mirror - perfect for your handbag. I absolutely love both of the brushes which come with a protector which is so essential to keep your brushes in good condition and I also find them to be just the right size for each of their jobs. I love using the blusher brush for a contour as I have found it extremely easy to work with.

Both the blusher and bronzer are highly pigmented so you only need to apply a small amount of product but you can also build the colour too if desired. I would say the consistency is quite similar to MAC blushers and bronzers. The bronzer in particular would be ideal for those with a medium to dark skin tone, but I think it would be too dark for those with a fair complexion. The blusher on the other hand could definitely be used on any skin tone.

The HD Brows Bronzer retails at £19.95 and the HD Brows Blusher in this shade which is described as 'burnt rose' retails at £17.95. The HD Brows Blusher Brush costs £14.95 and the HD Brows Large Powder Brush is £15.95 and are all available online.

For all information check out the HD Brows site here.

Let me know what you think and if you will be giving any of these products a go!

Disappointing Products #1

This is my first ever 'disaappointing products' blog post as I try to keep my blog as positive as possible. I do think I am quite tolerant when it comes to products which I don't particuarly like as I know that often the products which I do not get on with, somebody else could love. And this is more often the case then not. So here it goes...

Origins Spot Remover*
I was so dissappointed by this product, maybe my expectations were too high but I simply felt like they did nothing for my skin and if anything probably made it worse.

Jemma Kid Eyeliner in brown (free in a magazine) Now discontinued...
I actually got this in Glamour magazine so I don't know if the fact that is was a 'freebie' is partly to blame but I simply thought the quality of this was dreadful.

Benefit Stay Don't Stray
I possibly had a faulty product but I am not entirely sure. I simply found this dispensed far too much product making it very hard to work with. I found this to be such a shame as I really wanted to like this!

Aussie Dual Personality Coloured Hair Protection and Shine Spray
I found this left my hair really greasy and sticky and just did nothing for it. A big thumbs down from me.

NARS Larger then Life Lipgloss (sample size)
I love NARS makeup especially their face products, but I found this lipgloss just so difficult to work with. It was incredibly gloopy and just uncomfortable to wear which was rather disappointing.

MaxFactor Flipstick in Gypsy Red*
Perhaps the main reason I ended up disliking this product was due to the colour, it is not my sort of shade. Aside the colour I just ultimately wasn't too fond of the whole concept of the lipstick, the supposed look wasn't as easily achieved as perhaps advertised.

Let me know what you all think! I probably won't do another one of these posts for a while but please leave feedback below! -Or perhaps you love some of these products? Then let me know too! x

MAC 'Hot Gossip'

You know I love my MAC lipsticks, in fact they are pretty much the only lipsticks I really use. The last few weeks I have not stopped wearing MAC's 'Hot Gossip', the latest addition to my collection and my current favourite. It is a great everyday colour for that 'my lips but better' kind of look and it reminds me of the shades that Rosie Huntington Whitely often uses and appears to be similar to the shades used in many of the Burberry campaigns- always a huge beauty inspiration for me.

Hot Gossip is described as a mid-tone pinky plum colour. It has a cremesheen formula, so it applies smoothly on to the lips and is very easy to work with.

What are your favourite MAC lipstick at the moment?
 Please do let me know!

Get the Perfect Pout for Valentines Day with Dr Lipp.

So its Valentiene's day and whether you are all loved up or single, we all want  NEED perfect and well looked after lips right? Yes, yes we do. And so, I am going to let you in on a not so well kept beauty secret and one of my latest obsessions... The Dr Lipp Original Nipple Balm for lips*. It is loved by many industry insiders and it is no surprise why as this little tube has been my saviour throughout the recent snowy weather. It is a multi-purpose balm (think 8-hour cream without the horrible smell) which can be used on the lips, nipples (yes that's right), cuticles, elbows and feet.

It is of a very thick consistency so only the tiniest amount of product is needed, I like to just pat it on to my lips and then continue with my normal lipstick or gloss. But if you apply a bit more then it can also serve as a lipgloss.  Make-up artists also use Dr. Lipp not only for moisturizing the lips but also for creating a gloss on the eyelids, highlighting the cheek bones and tidying up the eyebrows.

The Dr Lipp  Original Nipple Balm* is available at Space NK and retails at £11.50  so be sure to let me
know if you try this out and what you think!

Happy Valentines  Day!  xx

Empties #5

Yet another empties post but what else would you expect from a beauty product enthusiast? So lets cut to the chase...

Lee Stafford Shine Spray
I adore Lee Stafford products but I found this to be a bit of a something of nothing. It smells really nicely but didn't really leave my hair looking any different so I won't be using this again in the future.

Clinique Mild Facial Soap
I wouldn't repurchase this, I found that ultimately it did not really do much for my skin at all. There are much better (and cheaper) alternatives on the market today.

Phyto Phytolisse Serum*
I really like Phyto hair products, they are made from natural ingrediants and I find them to be really effective especially with continuous use. I love that this doesn't leave the hair greasy as some hair serums do and so, I would definitely use this again. The only downside is that I did get through it rather quickly, although I do have a lot of hair!

Vita Liberata pHenommenal Tan* in Medium
When I first used the Vita Liberata pHennomenal tan I instantly fell in love, I adored the colour and the ease of application. However, I found that it didn't really last the full three weeks, and sometimes if you didn't fully prep the skin it could go patchy. I would have no qualms in using it again but for now I have a few other tans to trial. I would say I have had a positive experience overall with it but I have read very mixed reviews.

H20+ Sea Salt Body Wash*
To me generally a body wash is a body wash but what I did love about this was the consistency and the smell. It is very different to my usual body wash choices but what I really liked is that it reminded me of the beach!

Phyto Phytokarite Deep Nourishing Brilliance Mask*
I had a real love-hate relationship with this hair mask at first. But after following the instructions word for word and with continued use, I really did see an improvement in the condition of my hair. I found that it didn't instantly make my hair shiner or glossier etc. but that is probably down to the fact that as it has no chemical nasties, it did not just coat my hair, instead I felt it was repairing it from within.

Sally Hanson Maxium Growth Cuticle & Nail Treatment
I found that this did do the trick when it came to looking after my cuticles and it is sold for a reasonable price. I would repurchase this although I would be inclined to try something different.

Phil Smith Curly Locks Curl Perfecting Spray*
I used this as a sort of heat protector/ styling spray although I found that it didn't really do much for my hair. Although it a really affordable range, I don't think I would repurchase this, or any other Phil Smith products for that matter.

Jo Malone Lime, Basil and Mandarin Fragrance
I love Jo Malone. I already have repurchased this - need I say more?

Clarins Moisture Rich Body Lotion
Perhaps my favourite body cream to date- it is uh-mazingg.

Let me know what you think and what other products you have been loving- it is Valentines day after all! Mwahhhh

Minnies Boutique Bristol Pop Up Shop Launch

This Friday, I started my weekend by popping down to Cabot Circus Bristol to have a sneak peak at the Minnies Boutique Pop up Shop before it opened to the public on Saturday. I was really impressed with the set up but in fact, slightly disappointed to know that it was only temporary but fingers crossed for the future! The selection at Minnies Boutique varied from casual day pieces to some truly glam Essex style party dresses. Minnies Boutique also stock their own merchandise such as hooded jumpers, dressing gowns and some really cute pyjamas- definitely must-haves for any huge TOWIE fan. In terms of beauty, Minnies Boutique also stock their own range of lashes which I would be really intrigued to try.  Sam and Billie were chatting us to all throughout the evening and they looked absolutely flawless-I couldn't help but notice their perfect, glowing skin.

Overall, I had a lovely evening filled with champagne, cupcakes, clothes and a fab goodie bag- any girls ideal evening right?
If you want to pop down to the Minnies Boutique pop up shop in Bristol for yourself, then your last chance to do so will be today (Sunday 3rd Feb). If you can't make it though, check out the Minnies Boutique site here or for future news and events you can check out the Cabot Circus site here

Hope you have all had a fab weekend! <3
