'Scrub 'em and Leave em'

I have been absolutely loving this ''Scrub 'em and Leave em' body scrub from Soap and Glory. It smells amazingly, the packaging is fab, I LOVE the name and well it does what its supposed to do! My skin is left feeling really smooth and soft and exfoliating really is so important as it gets colder.
At around £8, I also think this is very reasonable considering the size of the product and in fact I have actually stocked up on a few of these!

My love for skincare has really taken over lately and so I'm pretty excited to tell you about my experience with the GLAMGLOW face mask.  Prior to trying this product I had heard some truly fabulous things about this little jar and with its cult celeb following and it claiming to give you that 'Hollywood Glow', I simply could not wait to slather this all over my face.

According to GLAMGLOW 'This is a Hollywood miracle product, a ‘facial in a jar’ that delivers everything you need for great skin, whatever your skin type. Used behind-the-scenes in Hollywood’s entertainment business, it was designed to create perfect, camera-ready skin in minutes.'

It’s a very grainy like formula and feels almost like a facial scrub. To apply, you simply smooth it on to the skin and wait for around 15 minutes before washing it off. It's a rather interesting shade of green, although the colour actually change as it dries. It also becomes practically impossible to make the slightest facial expression whilst you have it on- how VERY Hollywood!

So how did I really get on? Well, the first time I used it, I found the tingling sensation almost unbearable and I am not usually one to complain. However, a couple of weeks later when my skin was feeling really congested, I decided to use GLAMGLOW once again and luckily, I had no problems with the tingling. I'm still not entirely sure what caused it to react differently in terms of the tingling sensation - but perhaps this alters for everyone. However, on both applications there really was no denying that my skin was left looking amazing. In an instant my skin had a completely different texture. It was smooth, soft, brighter, even, clear and radiant.... ok the list could go on. But it was definitely goodbye to my 'bad skin day' and well just to get the point across, the results were simply outstanding.

GLAMGLOW retails for £49.99, which may seem like a lot but it really does seem to be a skin saviour. I don't think it would be something I'd use on a regular basis but instead, I think I'd save it for when my skin really needed a pick me up or for special occasions- it would definitely be perfect for the Christmas party season.

You can check out the GLAMGLOW site here for more information and you can also purchase smaller samples to try the mask before you commit to the full size.

It is also available in store at Selfridges and Space NK.

So what do you all think!?

Origins Spot Remover Pads

I was very kindly given these Origins Spot Remover pads by the lovely Serenity of Beauty. I am a little late on reviewing these, but I thought I'd add my opinion on this muchly talked about product anyway. These ache treatment pads contain Salicylic Acid, Clove and Oregano which is supposed to instantly unclog pores and clear blemishes whilst also minimising excess oil and debris to prevent future breakouts and blackheads. You use the pads am and pm after cleansing and simply sweep the pads over the affected areas.

My skin often gets random breakouts and just as I received this, my skin had just got broken out; not normally something I'm happy about but it did mean I could get some use out of these.  Unfortunately, it's not good news I'm afraid... I don't think these really did anything to help my skin whatsoever and in fact, I'm pretty relieved that I hadn't spent my own money on these, otherwise I would have been really disappointed.

On a more positive note, I have heard that some of the other products in this range are absolutely brilliant and a little cheaper then the pads which retail at around £20, so that may be something to look into in the future. But for now, when it comes to those pesky breakouts quite frankly, I'd rather reach for the Sudocream!

Who else has tried these? How did you get on- please leave a comment or tweet me to let me know!

My Jo Malone Favourites

I am a huge fan of Jo Malone fragrances, they are the ultimate luxury. The two I currently have in my fragrance collection are Pomegranate Noir which I adore in the Autumn months, and Lime, Basil and Mandarine which I have actually just repurchased (you can see a very  nearly empty bottle in the above pic!). But check out the gorgeous packaging that the lovely new full bottle came in below.

The only downside with the Jo Malone range is the price point, these 100ml bottles will set you back a hefty £76. However, they do come in a 30ml size bottle too, which I think is slightly more affordable at around £30-40. If you do have a Birthday coming up though, or just fancy a splurge; then definitely go and check out your nearest Jo Malone counter. There's a huge selection of fragrances to choose from that you'll be absoloutely spoilt for choice. I think on my next visit I'll be picking up a candle... or two!

Have you tried any products from Jo Malone which you also love?

Molton Brown Blissful Templetree Moisture Bodybalm

I love Molton Brown products; I think they are the ultimate treat. I have used their hand creams, their bath products and haircare and have never been disappointed.  I've recently started using this Blissful Templetree Moisture Bodybalm and well, if you are a fan of Molton Brown products then you may just love this too.  It helps to soothe and deeply hydrate the skin and it contains skin-conditioning algae extracts and moisturising coconut oil. At £18 it is on the pricer side of your average moisturiser, but like I said, it definitely makes a nice treat.  Perhaps it is something to add to your Christmas wishlist- that's when I get the majority of my Molton Brown products!

Have you got any favourite Molton Brown products that you would recommend? Let me know!

An Intro to the Emma Hardie Amazing Face Range

An amazing face you say? Yes please! For the last couple of weeks, I  have been trying out the Emma Hardie Amazing Face range and so far, I have been very happy with the highly effective and luxurious range. According to Emma Hardie, this Professional starter kit is a “Perfectly-sized beginners guide to an amazing face. For skin that craves change”, it is said to give a  fresher, brighter, more radiant face.

The Professional Facial Starter Kit contains the Moringa cleansing balm (10ml), the Aromatherapy infused rosehip exfoliating seed sachets (10g), a.m./p.m. hydrating and firming treatment moisturiser (10ml), the Firming eye serum (5ml) and a dual action buff and polish cleansing cloth.

The Natural lift and sculpt Moringa cleansing balm is a super luxurious botanical cleansing balm,  which effectively removes all face and eye make-up. It is really silky and hydrating and also doubles up as a soothing and softening mask and universal rescue balm.  It leaves the complexion clean and soft and I also think it has reduced the size of my pores. This is definitely one of my favourite products which I think will become a part of my everyday skincare regime. I still use the Bioderma H20 Crealine solution to remove makeup, although I think that the Moringa Cleansing Balm is just much nicer if you want to use something more luxurious.

It's also worth mentioning that I've really loved using the Moringa Cleansing Balm with the Dual action buff and polish cleansing cloth. It has an abrasive muslin side for a more controlled exfoliation and a smoother micro fibre side; ideal for polishing and perfecting the skin.

The concept of the Amazing Face Aromatherapy infused rosehip exfoliating seeds is something new to me, but I really like how it gives you the chance to customise your cleansing system. You simply add a sprinkle of these with a small amount of the Moringa cleansing balm and it really seems to work wonders on any congested areas of the skin.

I really like The Natural Lift and Sculpt Firming Eye treatment particularly because of its soothing and cooling properties. It's also meant to reduce the appearance of puffiness, dark circles and fine lines whilst also improving the circulation.

The Natural lift and sculpt hydrating and firming treatment moisturiser
combines the benefits of a facial serum and moisturiser. It has rich firming ingredients which smooth and hydrate the skin to enhance the complexion and give a natural glow. I've been using this morning and night and have found it to have a real plumping effect on my skin. This is probably a joint favourite of mine along with the Moringa Cleansing Balm.

What I love about starter sets in general is that they are such a great, quick and easy way of trying out a selection of products from a particular brand. You can get a real feel for the products and a better understanding of what the brand is about. It isn't as much of a financial commitment either, so if certain products aren't suited to you, it isn't going to be a waste.

Like I said, I have been using these for a couple of weeks now and have not had any problems. I am confident that some of these items will definitely become a part of my everyday skincare regime.
If you would like any reviews on any of these products in more detail then please let me know!
But I hope you have found this general overview useful.

The Emma Hardie The Professional Facial Starter Kit retails at £32 and is available from John Lewis, Beauty Bay, Space NK and QVC. Or you can check out the official site here.

New CID Cosmetics i-glow

When this gorgeous i-glow powder from New CID Cosmetics landed on my desk, I  couldn't help but gasp with excitement. This beautiful, marbelised glow powder in the shade Sirocco has some stunning shades of gold to highlight both the face and body and is ideal for this time of year when skin can start looking a little dull. However, that being said, I think this shade would look gorgeous in Summer too.
The New CID Cosmetics i-glow has a baked formulation which I really like as I know these types of products last a very long time. It's pretty multi-functional too as you can work your brush over different areas to pick up different shades which can be used as a golden blusher or eyeshadow. Aside the prettiness of the powder, the nice packaging and the handy mirror included; i - glow has light reflective pigments which mimick the skins natural radiance. This makes light bounce off the skin leaving the most gorgeous and natural looking finish ever. In fact, I've actually had a few compliments when wearing this product about my 'glowy' complexion and well, I always think that a true indication of whether a product is actually any good or not, is if others notice it too.
New CID Cosmetics i-glow in Sirocco retails at £24 and you can check it out online here.

So what do you all think? Have you got any other New CID products that you'd recommend or that you have been eying up?

Phyto Secret De Nuit

Secret De Nuit is a deep hair care treatment that hydrates and nourishes all hair types. It is especially ideal for those with extremely dry or damaged hair (yes, that would be me) as it contains regenerating and antioxidant botanical active ingredients which work on the hair throughout the night. It is also silicone and paraben free.

Ok so how is it used you ask? Simple, before bed apply a pea sized amount to towel-dried or dry hair. When applying it to the hair, pay special attention to the ends and make sure you avoid using it on the roots. Then comb through the hair to evenly distribute the product and that's it! Don't rinse out, just simply leave the product to work overnight et voila, style as usual the next morning and you are good to go.

I must admit, I wasn't too sure about the idea of this at first, as I have only had negative experiences in the past with these night time treatments. But with the Phyto Secret De Nuit, I honestly feel like it has had such a positive impact on my hair, and I am so happy that I didn't allow previous negative experiences with other products of this type to stop me from trying this one from Phyto.

I now wake up with my hair feeling much softer and so much more manageable- which for me, is pretty groundbreaking. On waking, my hair is usually on a whole other level of crazy/frizzy/wild and this definitely tames it- don't ask me how, but it works.

Secret De Nuit retails at £27.50 and is available from Selfridges, John Lewis &
Will you guys be giving this a go?

Neutral Nails - Bourjois 1 Seconde

Beige 03 and Taupe 04
Beige 03
Taupe 04

I have been eyeing up these Bourjois polishes for some time now. I thought there was a rather interesting colour selection in the range as I don't think the colours are your average kind of tones. I love the purple, blue, green and coral shades (ok so I like them all). But with winter approaching, I simply had to pick up these neutral colours. I have found that these polishes apply so easily and so well and they give a great finish due to their gel formula. However, they don't quite dry in one second but they do dry quicker then most other nail polishes that I have recently tried. Although I am tempted to go out and try more colours from the Bourjois range, I think I am just going to be reaching for these two neutral colours for now. Neutrals colours are a big trend for this Autumn Winter, so these will keep me going for when I haven't got my Belle Gel gel nails applied!

-One last thing, to avoid chipping your nails if you are using these polishes; make sure you use a really good base and top coat.

What are you wearing on your nails at the moment? Let me know!

Clarins Odyssey Face Palette

Clarins have done it yet again. They have just released another stunning Face Palette which I've fallen completely in love with. This face palette is a part of the new Odyssey limited edition collection, which also includes a gorgeous eye palette. The whole range looks absolutely perfect for the winter months and especially the Christmas season.

The packaging is truly exquisite and this is just such a luxurious product. It is presented in a pretty gold case which has a gorgeous design on the top of the palette. It includes a mirror inside and it also comes with a red velvet pouch to keep the palette safe and scratch free!

The Clarins Odyssey Face Palette is a light beige/bronze colour. The design that features on the outer packaging is also over sprayed in gold onto the powder. It is said to have a "light optimising complex" which works on the skin to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and imperfections and leave the skin looking even and radiant. I also like to use it as a highlighter and apply it on my cheekbones as it gives a subtle glow.

It's worth mentioning that on first use, the gold dusts off on to the rest of the palette, which I thought was a shame as the detailing is so beautiful. Once the over spray has gone, the powder underneath leaves a  matte finish.

This Clarins Odyssey Face Palette works on all skin tones and is now available from Clarins counters retailing at £35.

Who will be picking up this beautiful palette up then?
I also think it would make a lovely Christmas gift :)

Emma Hardie Natural Lift & Sculpt Skin Plumping Serum

I am pretty new to the Emma Hardie Amazing Face range but already, I am nothing but impressed. I have started using the Natural Lift and Sculpt Skin Plumping Serum and I really, REALLY like it. I have only regularly started using face serums in the last 4 months or so, but this is definitely the best one that I've tried so far.

I have always believed that when it comes to skincare, you generally need to commit to a certain regime for a minimum of couple of weeks before you see any noticable difference. But with this, I honestly saw a difference almost in an instant. I have been using it morning and evening as instructed (although I think I will start using it alternate nights as I am missing using my Alpha-H Liquid Gold) and I apply it all over my face, followed by my moisturiser and eye cream. If you have oily skin, it is however recommended to use this instead of your moisturiser and if you have combination skin, then just apply where needed.

The Natural Lift and Sculpt Skin Plumping Serum is also supposed to prepare the skin for makeup and it helps promote the skins luminosity and inner glow. It contains vitamins F, A, C and E which help protect the skin from environmental damage. It also contains Hyaluronic Acid which is great for keeping your skin soft and hydrated- yes it really does do it all! It has however, got a strong botanical scent to it, which I personally really  like but I know this isn't always for everyone.

I have noticed that my skin now feels firmer and tighter and yes, I know ageing isn't quite an issue for me just yet (I hope), but my skin definitely feels more refined. This has also balanced out my skin too, whilst giving it a natural rosy glow. I now even feel less obliged to layer on the foundation and instead am quite happy with a touch of concealer or simply a tinted moisturiser.

Although I do feel like I have seen and feel an instant improvement in the appearance of my skin, I do feel like it has kept on improving my skin more and more with continued use. In fact, I wouldn't be at all surprised if this ends up becoming a bit of a Holy Grail product for me. The Natural Lift and Sculpt Skin Plumping Serum retails at £44 (30ml) and is available from John Lewis and online at Beauty Bay, Feel Unique and also on the Emma Hardie site here

I do see skincare as a complete investment buy and this is something that I am so happy to have discovered- Please let me know what you all think!

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Review

I have wanted to try one of these mascaras that claim to make your lashes grow for a while now. So I decided to try this one from Rimmel as I used to be a big fan of their mascaras but haven't used one in quite a while. I've always got on with many Rimmel products; they are affordable and usually effective so I was pretty excited to give this a go.

Unfortunatley, I am not entirely convinced by this product. I wouldn't completely dismiss it, however, it hasn't done anything that I haven't seen before and there's certainly no wow factor. More importantly, I definitely have not seen any growth in my lashes.

It's not bad to use in the daytime and I guess I will still use it, but it definitely doesn't do what it claims and so I won't be repurchasing it. I haven't applied any other makeup on my eyes in the picture above so that you can see what it really looks like and make up your own mind.

Let me know what you think and if you have tried any other mascaras that claim to do something similar.

Empties #3

Another Products I have used up post! There isn't quite as many products here as usual, I was moving flat earlier this month  and couldn't quite justify carrying a tonne of empty products to my lovely but teeny new home. Speaking of which, space is now a bit of an issue so I'm not sure if I'll keep doing these posts for now; unless you desperately love them so do let me know.

Along with the products mentioned above, I have got through loads of other products lately such as my Apivita gel moisturiser and cleanser. I've also finally finished my Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume as well as a few fake tans and my much loved He-shi exfoliator and moisturiser.

Anyway on to the above, I must say I liked all the products. However, with the exception of the Bioderma, I don't think I will be rushing to repurchase any of them. Not because I was disappointed but merely because they are the sort of products that I like to experiment with.

It may be worth mentioning that whilst I did quite happily use up all of the Clinique anti-blemish foundation, I don't think it really did anything in terms of combatting or preventing spots and blemishes.

Leave a comment and let me know if you do want me to continue doing these posts or if you find them useful!

Rimmel Wake Me Up (and stop me looking so ill!)

Autumn has got the best of me and I am feeling a little worse for wear; ok if you follow me on Twitter you will see I have barely made it out of bed this week! Although I haven't been wearing makeup at all, on the occasions when I have managed to make it out of the house, I've been reaching for the Rimmel Wake me up foundation and concealer. This has been a favourite of mine for a while now, I also used to swear by it back in my teenage years when it had different packaging and I didn't spend silly amounts on cosmetics. Anyway that all being said, now seemed like the perfect time to review it.

You only need the tiniest amount of product to achieve a really glowy and natural looking finish. I'd say it is a buildable foundation as I have found with this blooming' cold that I've been applying a little more then usual. I love the concealer too and probably rate it higher then the very popular Collection Lasting Perfection concealer and it is still within the same price range- so that's great.

In the above picture this is all I have on makeup wise (and some mascara) and whilst it isn't the best picture, considering how groggy I've been feeling- I think it has done a pretty good job in making me look half human again- I did apply a tonne of blusher on afterwards too in order to try and put some colour back into my cheeks!

These are such affordable products and are of such a high quality, it makes me wonder why I do often fork out so much on high-end make up brands after all. Send me a tweet or leave me a comment if you have tried this too :)

Belle Gel Starter Kit

Over the weekend, a friend and I decided to experiment with the Belle Gel starter kit. We both love going to the salon to get our nails done professionally but more often then not, that tends to be a luxury that time doesn't always permit. So with the possibility of achieving a salon look in the comfort of your own home (I recommend in front of the TV on a Sunday night) who could resist.

In the Belle Gel starter kit you get everything you need to achieve both a long lasting and pretty manicure (or pedicure I assume!?) and the instructions are really easy to follow. You simply prep the nails, followed by a couple of layers of gel, let it dry under the light, add a top coat et voila!

There are lots of colours to choose from in the Belle Gel range but to start with we opted for Midnight Blue and Red Red. One set took roughly just over one hour, however, I am sure that with practice, the whole process would speed up.

It is also worth mentioning that you should be generous when applying the gel as you can see below on our first attempt some of the colour shrinked back. But with another layer this quickly was fixed - phew!

So below is how our first attempt went, I wouldn't say it's completely perfect but it is definitely not bad considering we had never used this type of kit at home.
Second time around, application already seemed easier and we avoided making the same mistakes, overall resulting in a slightly better finish.

A few days on and our manicures are still glossy and in tact. If they last a full two weeks then I'd happily dedicate an hour or so of my time and stick to using the Belle Gel kit. They are not damaging for the nails and contain no harmful ingredients such as Toulene and in fact, you can just wear the clear gel and this will strengthen and help the nails to grow. At £59.95 this may seem like quite the commitment, but I really think if you are willing to practice applying them and spending a little time on the application it is worth it - I mean how many of us live constantly changing our regular nail polishes due to chips. And of course in the long run; it is definitely cheaper then going to the Salon every couple of weeks.

Will this be added to your Christmas wish list?

Tommy Girl: Eau De Prep

I first mentioned the Tommy Girl Eau de Prep on Instagram (my username is phoebe151) but I now feel that it definitely needed it own little post. This is one fragrance (of many- I know) that has been getting me through the last few months. It has a cool feel and creates both a floral and fruity scent. I love the packaging and can't help but keep using this more so recently as it makes a great fragrance for this transitional period. I must admit that I was really reaching for this throughout September - it seemed sort of relevant, what with it being the start of a new academic year- yes I probably should be reaching for books instead of um-ing and ah-ing over fragrance but hey.

I also have seen this on sale now in The Perfume Shop and in Debenhams (I think) so it is definitely worth a try.

Vitamin C Facial Radiance Powder mix

I have been trying out this Vitamin C Facial Radiance Powder mix as a daily addition to my skincare regime. This serum and powder contains 5% vitamin C when mixed. You get a 10 day supply of this product which is said to improve the skin tone and texture and awakens radiance. I am going to keep this short; whilst this wasn't a bad product, I didn't really notice any difference in my skin. The only part I did like was that when used in the morning, it did really make me feel more awake (or at least subconsciously) and I assume this is down to the Vitamin C smell. I don't often write about products that I am disappointed with on here, I tend to just focus on the things that are really worth talking about, but as this is not my usual purchase, I thought I would share with you how I got on!

Have any of you guys tried this or anything similar?

Caudalíe Vinexpert

One of the reasons behind my love for all things beauty is that I love how universal it is and how great, some beauty products make you feel. On this blog, more often then not, I share products and tips that I suppose are more suited to those who are of a similar age to me. Taking that into consideration, I have decided that I want to start sharing more information regarding products that even though, they may not be right for my skin type or my age; they could in fact be perfect for some of you. Or, if these products aren't necessarily for you either, then they could make some great gift ideas, especially as Christmas is coming up.
Anyway, so I am rambling now. I wanted to tell you about these two products from Caudalíe (a brand that I highly rate) which launched last month on the Caudalie site here and in Space NK. The Vinexpert Firming Serum- The Anti- Gravity Concentrate and the Radience Day Cream SPF15 (pictured above). Both are a part of the Vinexpert range which also includes an Eye and Lip Serum, a Night Infusion Cream and a Light Radiance Day Fluid.

The Vinexpert Firming Serum (£45) is of a really high concentrate and is said to fill the areas which are most subjected to ageing and defying the laws of gravity. The active ingredients have an immediate tightening effect and a long term biological anti-wrinkle effect as it plumps the skin from the inside out. Although I am yet to use anti-wrinkle products as a part of my regular skincare regime, when I did try this I noticed just how smooth my skin was left. This product also contains 95% natural ingredients and is oil free.
The Radiance day cream SPF15 -The All day Radiance enhancer (£39)  is a velvety sheer pink cream which nourishes, illuminates and protects the skin whilst combatting wrinkles and lack of firmness. The skin is left visibly younger, firmer and smoother. It gives an instant healthy glow effect and when I tried it on my skin, I found it very moisturising and nourishing. I also found this worked really well under my makeup as a base.

Let me know if you have found this useful and if this is something you will be trying out!

I heart Passion Fruit

You probably already know that I love The Body Shop and whilst this product isn't groundbreaking; I thought I would give it its very own post! The Passion Fruit Shower Gel from The Body Shop is currently what I keep reaching for. It smells absolutely delicious and there's always something about Body Shop products which give them a sort of luxurious feel but without breaking the bank. It is definitely worth looking online too for voucher codes to use at The Body Shop, as often you can find special deals and discount codes. I love natural and fruity products so this for me ticks all the boxes.

Have you got anything similar that you would also recommend?

When I was contacted by jewellery retailer 21DIAMONDS, I was so excited. I mean, who doesn't love jewellery and what with Christmas approaching, I simply can't help but keep adding things to my wish list. 21DIAMONDS stock a variety of designer brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Just Cavalli and Sense  Copenhagan. They also stock a variety of gorgeous watches and you also have the option to configure fine jewellery; some of which is under £100. Take for example the rings shown above; both have the same design but, one is around the £100 price mark and the other is around £250. This of course is fab if you have a particular design in mind or have a specific budget. Above I have chosen a selected few of my favourite products from the site (it was so hard to decide!), I'm obsessed with the Sense Copenhagan ring- I think it is adorable. The site is really easy to navigate and it definitely caters for everyone's tastes and budget.  -Oh and excuse the rusty Photoshop skills; it has been a while!

Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser

My skincare routine has changed a lot recently. Everything ran out at the the same time (as it always does) and I had to quickly decide what was being repurchased (Bioderma, the Caudalie Beauty Elixir and Liquid Gold obviously stayed) and what would be replaced.

I have started using this Skin Repair Moisturiser by Liz Earle and although I wouldn't say I necessarily have have dry skin, it can sometimes be sensitive. This rich formula is ideal for the coming winter months, and it is just what my skin needs. Due to it's rich formula it also doubles up as a great evening moisturiser. There is also a version of this product designed for those with normal and combination skin and both are £18.75, which I think is reasonable for such a nice and high quality product. Plus, I really think this will last ages.

I really am loving Liz Earle products at the moment and well you all know I am skincare obsessed, so leave me a comment and let me know what you think! :)
